How to read Sesha
Start with the news. Open a story to see what was reported, when, and by whom. Sesha Index is the sourced research underneath. You can follow a subject or ask a question. Saved research is free.
Choose how far to read.
- Pace
- The short state of the story.
- Standing
- The fuller account in the record. This depth includes Pace.
- Record
- Everything, including history and withdrawn claims. It includes the earlier depths.
The depth buttons and claim ledger use JavaScript. This guide and its navigation do not.
Dates belong to the record.
The date on a story is the date the record was updated, not the moment you opened the page. Rebuilding the site does not make an old story current. Nothing is marked new unless the record itself moved.
- Standing
- Reported in this record and not contested. It is not a guarantee of truth.
- Contested
- Conflicting accounts exist. Treat the claim as unresolved.
- Withdrawn
- Later found unreliable. It stays visible so the history is not erased.
Fiction and format demos live at their own page and on their own story addresses. Each one says it is fiction. They are not on the news list. “Reported” means the claim was drawn from a real outlet, not that Sesha certified it.
A permanent claim link is not a source archive.
Select a claim mark to inspect who first reported it, when, and what corroborates it. Use its permanent story link ending in #clm-{id}, or its standalone /c/{id}/ page. The identity stays fixed; the claim's status can change. Re-check the record before relying on it.
Reported claim pages include the source link, a quoted line, and when it was retrieved. Those outside pages can change or disappear. A Sesha link does not freeze them. Fiction origins are invented, not evidence of a real event.
Use your own chat, if you want.
On a story, “Copy the record link” copies the public address of that story. Paste it into a chat you already use. Sesha does not answer the question for you, and an outside answer is not part of this record.
Coming back.
This browser can remember when you last opened the news list, and highlight what the record changed after that. Browser saves lets you return to followed stories and Index entries without an account. Nothing is synced; clearing browser data removes that list. Account saves is a separate, free list that follows you across devices.
Accounts use a handle and password, not email. In Account, keep a private recovery code before you need it. A code can be used once to replace a forgotten password. Sesha sends no email notifications or password-reset mail.
No charge for reading.
The news, the Index, asking a question, and saved research are free. There is no buy button. A correction still starts with the claim and its source; this page cannot promise a reply.
